17 day Lodge Safari & Zanzibar Beach Extension

Day 1:  Arrival Arusha Town
You will be met at the airport by your Driver/Guide and our representative. We will take you to the Planet Lodge in Arusha for a free day, with your Safari starting tomorrow. BB.

Day 2: Lake Manyara

Your Safari starts with the drive to Lake Manyara. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, hippo and others. Overnight at Motto Cottages Lodge at Lake Manyara. All meals included.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park. A picnic lunch will be provided. On the way you will stop at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive. Overnight at a Lodge at Serengeti Osupuko Camp. All meals included.

Day 4: Serengeti full day

A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. Your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. Overnight at a Lodge at Serengeti Osupuko Camp All meals included.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
In the morning drive to Ngorongoro Crater. After arrival in Ngorongoro you will descend into the crater for a game drive at the bottom, for a game drive. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. Overnight at Ngorongoro Farm House. All meals included.

Day 6: Tarangire
After breakfast we depart for Tarangire, Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah and up to six thousand elephants. Overnight at Tarangire Osupuko Lodge in Tarangire. All meals included.

Day 7:  Tarangire – Arusha Town
After breakfast go for a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. Return to lodge for lunch before you depart for Arusha. Overnight in Planet Lodge. All meals included.

Day 8: Arusha – Flight – Selous (Nyerere National Park)
After breakfast, transfer to Arusha airport and flight to the Selous Game Reserve. Dinner at Selous Mbega Camp. All meals included.

Day 9: Selous (Nyerere National Park)
After breakfast full day game drive in Selous park until evening, then drive back to Selous Mbega Camp for Dinner and Overnight. All meals included.

Day 10: Selous (Nyerere National Park)
After breakfast a morning walking Safari along the Rufiji River. In the afternoon boat safari. Overnight at Selous Mbega Camp. All meals included.

Day 11: Selous (Nyerere National Park) – Flight – Zanzibar Island
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip and connecting flight to Zanzibar. Transfer to Shooting Star Lodge. All meals included.

Day 12– 16: Zanzibar Island
Enjoy and relax at the beach. Indulge in the many activities offered, including water sports, tennis, fitness and many more. Overnight at Shooting Star Lodge. Half Board.

Day 17: Departure
After breakfast at the resort, check out and transfer to Zanzibar airport.
